We spent every summer in Florida while I was a child. This continued until I had my own children. I had the best of both worlds. We spent our summers in between everything fun to do in Georgia, or at least everything we loved to do. There was Disney World in one direction, Daytona Beach in another and the beautiful historic town of St. Augustine in yet another.
As an adult who has a love of Florida, anytime I have the opportunity to head to Florida, I do so. We had a family reunion there and since we were going to be in the area anyway, we decided to shake the cushions out of the couch for spare change (lol) and we made arrangements to head to Universal Studios for a couple of days.
I was in Texas when we made up our mind to go, so we packed, hopped on a plane to Georgia where we spent the night (so I could unpack and repack) and the next morning, we drove to Florida.
It’s amazing how much Florida has changed since I spent my summers there. I hadn’t been back for many many years. Needless to say, we had a fantastic time as I knew we would and I captured so many photos that I’d never be able to fit in one post but they will be prized for the remainder of my life and thereafter.
