Reed Bingham State Park Travel

I love taking the kids to outings, one on one so I can spend time with each of them.  However, when it comes to
Reed Bingham State Park they all want to go. We have the best time there and it’s one of the places that has so much to do, that there’s not a moment to spare. Go on an extended weekend because it takes about 3 days to do everything there is to do. They have a super nice campsite for tents & RV’s, in fact, there are 42 Tent, Trailer & RV Campsites plus a pioneer campground, and 1 Primitive Paddle-In Island Campsite. You need a boat to get to it and there are rentals available. Sleeps 30. I haven’t seen it yet but we’re planning to check it out on our next visit. There is such a large amount of nature to see in their expansive 1,613 acres in Colquitt County and Cook County located 5 miles east of Ellenton, Georgia. When I tell people where it is, I usually tell them it’s between Valdosta and Cordele to give a better understanding. We enjoy the paddle boat, canoe & kayak rentals and they even have pontoon boat tours to take advantage of the expansive 375 Acre Lake. Do be careful. There is wildlife everywhere and that included alligators. There is a sandy beach for swimming and a beach pavilion. They have bike rentals for nature trails. It’s easier for me to just rent the bikes than to take all of ours so this is a handy feature in my opinion. There is a large playground for the kids to play. They also have a volleyball area. We always play miniature golf while there. The fishing is great so bring your fishing equipment as well. We enjoy all of the wildlife such as the nesting gopher tortoises. This truly is a place for the entire family.
