Callaway Resort & Gardens Travel

Callaway Resort & Gardens has always been one of my favorite place to travel to. I spend a full day until closing there and then I spend a day taking in the sights in the North Georgia mountains and work in a visit to Warm Springs when I can. I generally buy a yearly pass to Callaway Gardens because I love to go as often as I can. I love being in touch with nature and being surrounded by all of the wildlife, flowers and of course the butterflies. I spend an unGodly amount of time in the butterfly house during the cooler months. It gets a little too warm for me during the heat of the summer.

There’s so much to do at Callaway Resort & Gardens beside the fabulous gardens and butterfly house. There’s biking, hiking, a bird of prey show, there are treetop adventures & ziplines, boating and a beach, golf, a spa, dining and so much more. The self-guided, in-air obstacle course is not for me because of my back injuries but I’m certain it would be fun. I’m giddy just thinking about my next visit. Every time I go I see and learn something different. And the azaleas are stunning at the Callaway Brothers Azalea Bowl when they’re in bloom. Book your vacation around the azaleas and you’ll thank me for it.

There are different events for every season. I’m going to miss the Fantasy In Lights show this year because I have my calendar full but I’m planning a trip next year for a few days so I can see and do it all. In fact, I’ve already booked a room because I know how quickly they’ll fill up for the lights events. I want to tour it at least twice on the trolly during my 3-day stay. You can drive through it if you prefer that to the trolley. I want my hands free to snap photos.

There are so many restaurants to choose from at Callaway Resort & Gardens, I never know which one I’m going to eat at until my cravings take over. This time, I enjoyed the Country Kitchen and the Discovery Cafe.

As far as places to stay, you have your pick of those too. I booked my next trip to Callaway at the Mountain Creek Inn and I was lucky enough to get the room with the courtyard view. That usually sells out fast and first. It pays to plan ahead and book a year ahead. The Mountain Creek Inn is really affordable but if you want to go higher I’m certain you will enjoy any of their choices from the lodge and spa to their cottages. They have lodging for every budget and preference.
