Andersonville National Cemetery & National Prisoner of War Museum Travel

Having a free day, I decided to head to Andersonville National Cemetery & National Prisoner of War Museum.  I also stopped at the historic downtown of the small town of Andersonville to learn a little more about this civil war town.  I’ve always had a fascination with history and the civil war period.

It was very educational and didn’t take more than a day to see everything there was to see here although next time I’m going to include the Drummer Boy Museum at the Andersonville Civil War Village.  It started out a pretty day but by the time I drove to the cemetery it had started raining so I didn’t get any photos of that part of my trip.  The drive thru the cemetery is a self-guided tour.  They provide a tape as you go through to tell you where you are and what that area was used for.
